Miss Cumings brought out her trolley of treats again to help the children design Christmas coloured biscuits - with EDIBLE GLITTER SPRAY!!!
We think some of the icing made it on to the biscuits... and we hope at least some of the biscuits made it home ???

Author Visit to School - Susanne Schroder, by Mrs Harris

On Monday 28th November, children’s author Susanne Schroder will be visiting school. She will be reading her newest book ‘The Robin’s First Christmas’ to Years F2, 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Mindfulness Club KS1, by Mrs Harris

This week in mindfulness club, we spent time thinking about our feelings. We spoke about the ‘Zones of Regulation’ and focused on what might make us feel different emotions. The children drew pictures to show how they feel in the green, red, yellow and blue zone. It was lovely to have some time to reflect and chat about our week!

In DT Year 1 have designed and created their own healthy ice cream sundaes! They chose their own toppings and then ate their creations! Perfect on such a warm day!
Y1 Trip to New Brighton, by Mr Chamberlain

Year 1 had a wonderful trip to New Brighton! We were very lucky to go inside Fort Perch Rock and learn some history about the Fort. We then went to The Tower Grounds and saw where New Brighton Tower used to be and where the Black Pearl used to be, we made amazing sketches of what it used to look like! Then we went down the prom and into Vale Park, where we had a lovely lunch on the grass before exploring the fairy gardens and going on a fairy hunt.
Thanks to all the amazing staff and parent helpers for your hard work today, and to the amazing children for being so well behaved.

Year 1 had a fun time yesterday using a metre ruler to measure larger things in our classroom. We learnt all about centimetres and how many are in a metre! We estimated the length and height of objects and then had a go at measuring them ourselves!

RNLI Water Presentation, by Miss Markey

Year 1 were very lucky to have an RNLI volunteer in school today to talk about water safety. The volunteer showed the children different symbols, signs and discussed different ways that we can stay safe near water. We even had time to dress up and practice throwing a life ring to help Brenda, the RNLI teddy bear! Super work, Year 1!

Year 1 were very lucky to recieve a visit from Tony Banks from the RNLI. Tony taught the children the importance of water safety and what to do incase we see anyone in danger in the water. We also learnt about the warning signs they might see near water, as well as some flags which have important meanings! The children loved dressing up as a lifeguard and a member of the RNLI, they even had a go at throwing a lifering to save the RNLI bear!

Girls Easter Football Camp- LFC Foundation, by Miss Flynn

LFC Foundation are delighted to announce that they will be running a Girls Only Easter Football Camp at Solar Campus, the training venue of LFC Women. The camp is open to children aged 4-14 and will run on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th April from 10am-3pm at a cost of £15 per day.

Year 1 have been learning about different 3D shapes this week in Maths. Today, the children used sticks and playdough to recreate 3D shapes practically! Super learning Year 1!
Buckingham Palace, by Miss Markey

Year 1 had a special treat this afternoon.... they explored some of the 775 rooms in Buckingham Palace! They were able to look, touch and discuss the different items, using facts and labels to learn about the different artefacts. The children then drew/wrote all of their learning onto big paper and shared what they had learnt at the end of the lesson. Super teamwork Year 1!

Year 1C were very lucky to get a visit from Year 6 today! Year 6 read so nicely with the Year 1s and everybody had a great time together. We can't wait for another visit from them in the future!

Y1C had an amazing time creating their own timelines about The Queen's life. We talked about all the important dates in The Queen's life and ordered them on a timeline. We then were able to decorate our timelines with everything we know about The Queen! Well done Y1C!

Year 1C had a fabulous World Book Day! They looked amazing! They enjoyed creating bookmarks and front covers for their favourite books, as well as listening to some fantastic stories during the day.
