- Birkenhead Priory was founded in 1150 as a Benedictine Monastry.
- In 1888 William Lever built a new factory in Wirral.
- William Lever developed Port Sunlight so that his workers would have a better place to live.
- In 1922 the Lady Lever Art Gallery was opened in the village of Port Sunlight.

- The Wright Brothers made the first flight in 1803
- Lt Yuri Gagarin was the first human to orbit the earth in 1961
- Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon in 1969.
- Tim Peak was the first British astronaut to walk in Space in 2015.
- William Hesketh Lever and his brother James Lever founded Lever Brothers in 1885.
- Prince Charles is the heir to the throne. He founded Poundbury in 1993.
