Date: 4th May 2022 @ 3:21pm

Hi all,
Just to let you know that the application process for Wirral U11/U10's Boys and U11 Girls football trials has switched to online this year and is already open. All the information and forms can be found on our Twitter account @Wirral PSFA.

A link to the application form:

Grateful if you could make the children, who you feel can play at the standard required to represent Wirral at local and national level, and their parents aware of the form.

The closing date for the Girls team is the 3rd May and the Boys teams 6th May, we also have to limit the number of players attending each session at Stage 1.

We will be running an U10s Boys Team, U11s Boys Team and U11s Girls Team. This means that the process is open to children who are currently in Year 4 and Year 5 (Year 5 and Year 6 next academic year).

Many thanks

Year 5 Trip to Hoghton Tower ?, by Miss Flynn

Date: 25th Jan 2022 @ 4:23pm

Today, Year 5 visited Hoghton Tower as past of our History topic. Upon arrival, the children were welcomed by experienced tour guides dressed in Tudor clothing! They were then taken around the house including the state bedroom and ballroom. After lunch we got to see the underground passages and dungeons along with our new video about the visit of King James I. We also held our own ceremony to ‘knight’ some of the children during the day. Although the castle was really cold ? we all had a great day! ?

Year 5 Trip to Liverpool Museum, by Miss Flynn

Date: 14th Jan 2022 @ 2:54pm

We had a great day at Liverpool Museum today!

We started the day by studying the buildings - focusing on the columns outside the museum and St George's Hall. This tied in with our topic- Ancient Greece.

We then spent the first half of the morning exploring the museum- we particularly enjoyed the mummy room and aquarium!

After that, we took part in a workshop in the Planetarium. We loved learning about the solar system and how telescopes ? work!

Date: 12th Oct 2021 @ 10:08am

National Poetry Day is the annual mass celebration on the first Thursday of October that encourages all to enjoy, discover and share poetry. This year, National Poetry Day takes place on 7 October 2021, and the theme is Choice.

National Poetry Day generates an explosion of activity nationwide, thousands of amazing events across the UK – on doorsteps and at kitchen tables, in gardens and streets, in schools, libraries and public spaces both online and offline – all celebrating poetry’s power to bring people together.

The Day starts conversations, it encourages love of language – and best of all, it’s open to absolutely everyone to join in, quietly or noisily in rewarding and enjoyable ways. As the artform’s most visible moment, it showcases the ways in which poetry adds value to society.

Drama with Mr Glen

The GIF(t) of Drama — Interactive Schools

Today Year 5 worked with Mr Glen in the drama study. After we had warmed up, we continued exploring the incredible expedition made by Sir Ernest Shackleton. We have been looking at diary entries, photographs and films of the event. Using these, we recreated scenes and performed them for the rest of the class using sound effects and thought tracking. Next week we will start looking at the scripted elements. Excellent work by all today. Well done year 5
