Earth Day 2024 - 22 April, by Mrs Harris
Date: 21st Apr 2024 @ 9:39pm
Earth Day 2024
π Earth Day is marked on 22 April each year. The very first Earth Day was held in the USA in 1970, in response to a spill from an oil tanker. It has since grown to become and global event, during which as many as 1 billion people around the world mark the need for action on the environment and living sustainably
π The theme for Earth Day 2024 is 'Planet vs. Plastics'
π To celebrate Earth Day, we will take part in activities to encourage us all to think and learn about what we can do to look after our planet
Small steps to help save our planet:
π reduce use of plastic and avoid single-use plastic
π walk or cycle to school if possible
π recycle
π turn off lights when not in use
π use less water
I'll upload some photos of how we learned to help by the end of the week π

Enterprise Day Marketing Videos and Posters, by Mrs Harris
Date: 1st Feb 2024 @ 9:51pm
The children had a wonderful time during the preparation for Enterprise Day 2024!
Their entrepreneurial skills were certainly put to the test and they all did so well.
Modern life means our young people need to be resilient, innovative and not afraid to experiment - all important for entrepreneurs.
We are using Enterprise Day to develop a range of skills in our pupils. These skills include:
- team work, financial literacy, organising and planning, using initiative, negotiation, taking risks, creativity and innovation.
A key part of enterprise is the making of goods, followed by the marketing and selling of these goods.
Take a look at our presentation / marketing videos and see what you like the look of π

CAFOD Shrewsbury Visit to Our Lady's, by Mrs Harris
Date: 11th Oct 2023 @ 10:28pm
On Monday, Ann from CAFOD in Shrewsbury visited school to teach us all about the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. We learnt about the flooding in Pakistan and discussed ways that we could raise money to help fund medical vans that could reach the most hard to reach areas.
We learnt about the principles of 'Human Dignity'- everyone is equal and 'Preferential Option for the Poor and Vulnerable'- the importance of helping those most in need first.
Back in class, we designed our own colourful medical vans like those designed and painted by volunteers for CAFOD.
