We hope you are all ok and staying safe at home. We have uploaded a video below that briefly outliness today's activities for you.
We have also uploaded your lessons for today onto SchoolSpider. We have provided you with step by step instructions and links to any videos that may support your learning.
Here is a brief overview of today's lessons;
Maths today will be adding and subtracting using decimals.
English today will be exploring persuasive language and persuasive devices.
History today will be finding information about Mayan Gods and exploring the differences between ancient religions.

Hi F2,
We hope you had a lovely weekend with your families. Remember to log on to Tapestry to check for any information/Memo’s we may have posted and to upload your work to Tapestry when you have completed it. Here are the tasks for today:
Literacy – Little Red Riding Hood

Listen to the story again. This time you are going to change a character.
What character will you change? What will you change it to?
Draw a picture of your new character. Can you write some words to describe your new character? For example: A long snake. A big snail.
Use your phonics knowledge to help you sound out the words.
Phonics – Consolidation
In Phonics, we are practising our Phase 2 and 3 sounds:
Phase 2 (s, a, t, p, i, n, m, d, g, o, c, k, ck, e, u, r, h, b, f, ff, l, ll, ss)
Phase 3 (j, v, w, x, y, z, zz, qu, ch, sh, th, ng, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, air, ure, er).
Go round your house and try to find objects that begin with each letter of the alphabet e.g. apple, book, crayon. Can you draw them and try to write what the object is?
Maths -Length

Choose a selection of your favourite toys. Can you order them from shortest to longest/longest to shortest? Can you explain how you have ordered the toys?
RE – Jesus Loves Each One of Us
Talk about God and Jesus’ love for us. Using your favourite teddy bear or toy, show God and Jesus’s love e.g. give a hug, say kind words etc.

Draw a picture and write a sentence about someone you love and why. For example: I love my brother. He is kind.

Literacy – Little Red Riding Hood

Talk about the story of Little Red Riding Hood with the people you live with. Talk about what happens first, next and last.
Can you challenge yourself to write some words/sentences about the story e.g. The wolf is big. Granny is sick etc
Phonics – Consolidation

Maths – Counting in 10’s

Join in with the song. Can you count in 10s? Can you write the numbers? E.g. 10, 20, 30 etc.

PSED – Singing a song of soap
Think of ways you can keep clean to stay healthy.
Can you draw some pictures and write some words on ways we can keep clean e.g. wash your hands.

RE - We have also uploaded a word document with some links to websites/videos that you need to watch about the Epiphany. We would then like you to draw a picture to represent the Epiphany.

Look at the story map you created yesterday. Can you retell the story in as much detail as you can remember? Maybe a grown up or sibling can join in. You could even use your favourite toys/teddy bears.
Can you think of actions to go with each picture of your story map?
Remember to think about the structure of the story – beginning, middle and end. As well as the characters and the plot.

Use the objects to work out what one more/one less is. Can you write the number?
Repeat this a few times with different numbers.
Understanding the World – ‘Can all animals be pets?’
In Understanding the World, we are continuing to think about ‘Can all animals be pets?’

Make your own animal mask of one of the animals from the story using objects from around your home e.g. a paper plate, paper, cereal box.
Can you make your own flipbook story similar to the ‘Dear Zoo’ story with pictures using different animals? For example: I wrote to the Zoo to send me a pet. They sent me a crocodile. He was too snappy. I sent him back.
Can you retell the story back to a grown up?

Good morning children! We hope you are well and have managed to get started on your home learning this week.
Your teachers will be in touch on a regular basis to ensure that you know what to do and are confident accessing learning at home during this lockdown period.
Each day we will be posting a blog on our year group page to outline the learning for the day. Each blog will include a video from one of the teachers, which will also be available to view on our school youtube channel.

Your learning for the week will be outlined on our weekly home learning timetable. To access this you need to login to the pupil area of our school website and click on download homework. If anyone is unsure how to do this, Mr Chamberlain has created a very informative youtube tutorial to show you how to do this (also to be found on our school youtube channel)
The school has prepared a home learning pack for each child which includes exercise books, workbooks etc. to help you with you home learning and for you to complete your daily learning tasks in. When you have completed your work please upload it on the pupil login area, or upload a photo if you have done it in your book. Your teachers will then be able to see your work and give you feedback on what you have done.
Today we will be learning...
Maths- we are focusing on counting in multiples of 4 and practising our 4 times tables. Use your Rockstars Timestables login to practise your 4 times tables and see if you can beat your score and time- can you battle any of your classmates and try to get a new high score? Complete the questions set on your home learning timetable.
English- we are focusing on writing in the past tense. Write a recount of the things you did with your family during the Christmas break- when you have finished your writing go through and highlight/colour all the past tense verbs you have used.
Geography- we are beginning our learning about Egypt and North Africa. Watch the BBC Bitesize video using the link on the home learning timetable and complete the activity to make your own world map showing lines of longitude and latitude etc.

Good Morning Year 6,
Hope you are all keeping safe and keeping busy at home
We are now going to upload a blog and a video daily, explaining the tasks for each day. If you go onto the school spider to ask any questions you might have and you can also upload your completed work here.
Today in Maths we are going to be looking at BIDMAS - this is the correct order to complete an equation when there are different operations. We have uploaded a worksheet for you to complete, you will be able to find this on the school spider. On the weekly timetable of work you will be able to find some links to videos.
English - Is looking at deforestation and the impact this can have. If you go onto the school spider you will be able to find the links to the videos and further information.
In the afternoon you will be doing Art which is starting to look at some pieces of South American art and starting to recreate some pieces of art of your own using inspiration from your research.
Don't forget to take plenty of breaks and maybe try to do some excersise or get some fresh air.

Select 'Year 6'
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, you will see a message updated daily...videos will start from tomorrow! (Thursday 7th)
You will also find the weekly plan of lessons and activities- there are links to videos and information that will help you on here too.
To upload your work, you will need to log in to our SchoolSpider using your own login. Please contact us via the school office if you need your login.
You can either attach a file or upload a picture of your work.
We will then provide feedback for your work as quickly as possible via SchoolSpider.

F2A have had a brilliant Christmas party day. The children worked hard to prepare for their party by deciding what games and decorations they would like. We even made placemats, party hats and had a visit from Santa! The party was lots of fun!
This afternoon, we joined in with a whole school virtual Nativity story. The children sang some songs and made some lovely angel decorations.
We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
