Our Lady and St Edward's Catholic Primary School is one of Wirral’s Family Hub Satellite Centre π
β¨οΈ Family Hubs are places where families with 0 – 19 year olds (or 25 for SEND children) can easily access a wide range of support including parenting, social care, education, mental health and physical health
They have been established by Wirral Council, with money from the Department for Education’s Family Hub Transformation Fund

We are thrilled to announce that we have been successful in our bid for the Tesco Community Grant Scheme to help us support our Sunshine Sensory Hub πππ
This will help us provide a sensory space for children to play, learn, relax and feel safe in, especially those children with SEND.
Our blue token slot OPEN NOW, until mid January and you will be able to vote in both 'Big Tesco' and 'Little Tesco'. We will receive at least £500 but may receive up to £1500, so please ensure you collect a blue token in store and vote for us! π

We have been doing self portraits in the style of Picasso this week. We used oil pastels to colour them in the bright colours he would have used.

What a fun week in the Sunshine Room! Lots of bubbles, sensory play (including yummy spaghetti!) and building. But most importantly…...we LOVE our new soft play equipment! The children love using the area to relax and play. Thank you to our family support worker, Leanne, for sorting this. Our children are so thankful ! βΊοΈ

As today is World Mental Health Day, Year 6 participated in a mindfulness workshop led by UNO One Creative. We were taught different techniques to calm our mind and intense feelings.
Here are some images of Y6 practising their breathing techniques. We also learnt about how the squeeze and release technique can release tension within our body.

Year 4 enjoyed a brilliant morning learning how to create different types of knots, how to put up a hammock and then how to cover it with a tarp to stay out of the rain! βΊοΈ π§οΈ
Afterwards the children played the jungle-camp snake game where one child leads another through a snake infested area!π
All that's left now is to have some lunch and then get ready for the coach journey home π

Year 3 had so much fun imagining they were in a cave, discovering some unusual art designs on the ceiling of their cave. They then re-created their own cave art by using pastels. Well done Year 3!

Year Two have been learning about the role of a potter and the history of ceramics. We specifically looked at Wedgwood and Della Robbia. The children have designed and made their own clay plate today. The children are excited to paint them next week.

Wow, what amazing news we've had today!
Aleah attended a dance competition in Glasgow over the weekend, came runner up in slowdance, and then she danced for the first time in under 8 champs................and she only went and won!!!
What an incredible achievement for Aleah! She has clearly shown incredible confidence and determination! Aleah loved sharing her news with the class and we all celebrated with her as we watched a video of her winning moment! Well done Aleah!

Today in our RE lesson we reflected on the gifts God has given to us. The children then thought about the special gifts their friends have. They picked a name from the pot and wrote words to show the gifts that person has from God. We then shared these together as a class and celebrated how special we are
