Year 6 Come & Share, by Mrs Parry

Date: 27th Nov 2019 @ 2:08pm

This morning's Come & Share was a great success. The children talked about their learning in history and showed our visitors what they had learned about WWI and WWII. Their knowledge of specific dates and events was incredible. We then related this to our studies of charities in RE and the terrible effects war both had on the world and continues to have on our world today.

Together we made Christmas cards for strangers - Refugees fleeing war zones, Veterans living with the effects of warfare and individuals who have been affected by violence and fighting. We wrote messages of support and hope and began making packages of love (containing dry, warm socks) to send to both local homeless shelters and charities.

We are so proud of our Year 6, their maturity and their compassion.
