Year 4 loved their visit to the Liverpool Maritime Museum today! They were able to link their History and Geography topic work on Ship Building and Liverpool/Birkenhead docks with a maritime educational workshop followed by a tour around the museum ?

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a fantastic day for our Year 3 and 4 children. They have enjoyed a jam packed day full of opera, pop, sparkles, bubbles and confetti!

Coronation Party Day in Year 4, by Mrs Harris

Year 4 Coronation Party Day ? 

We had an amazing day celebrating the King’s Coronation. We made our crowns ready for our celebratory lunch, then we had a ‘Design your best King’s robe’ competition. 

We started our preparations for our time capsule for future children and we had some delicious ice cream and cake. A fun day had by all ??

Esme and Caden have been very busy saving a bird of pray! ???

This beautiful creature was found injured after being hit by a vehicle. Due to some fast action thinking, the buzzard was quickly taken to the nearest vets to get checked out. We have had updates informing us that she had no broken bones but did have an infection in her eye. She is being transferred to Wrexham to be rehabilitated when she will then be released back into the wild to join her family ???

Francis from Red Rum Club has only sent a personal message to our Years 3 and 4 children to wish them luck in their 'Eurobeat' performance - how amazing is that??!!
So........our Years 3 and 4 children have sang 'Love Me Like You Wanna Be Loved' and sent a message back to Francis Doran

Year 4 Science - Sound, by Mrs Harris

Year 4 had great fun learning what sound is today. They watched a silent clip of a lion, a digger and a cricket before having a go at recreating the sounds they could be making. They then watched the clip with sound to see how close their own recreations were. A loud but very enjoyable afternoon!

Year 4 Chester Grosvenor Museum, by Mrs Harris

Year 4 had a fantastic day visiting The Chester Grosvenor Museum. We prepared ourselves with shields and armour ready to walk through the Roman city of Chester. Once at the amphitheatre, we practiced formations and together conquered our enemy! 

We marched back to the museum filling the streets with our Roman chant. Then we took part in a Roman education workshop where we compared Roman Chester to Chester today.

A fun packed day for all!

We had a lovely morning creating our own Roman mosaics with our adults. We enjoyed telling them all about our topic on Romans and what we have learned so far, from the invasion attempts on Britain, how Romans lived, to the battle with Boudicca.

On Monday 28th November, children’s author Susanne Schroder will be visiting school. She will be reading her newest book ‘The Robin’s First Christmas’ to Years F2, 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Year 4 Anti-Bullying Week 2022

Miss McGregor's class have spent today looking at 'Reach Out'.

Organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, and is this year's theme encouraging everyone to come together and reach out to others to stop bullying

Y4 took part in our ‘Reach Out’ Anti-Bullying Week workshop this afternoon. The children learned about identifying different types of bullying and what to do if it happens to themselves or to others. 

They played a game which taught them about empathy and anti-bullying then they created a variety of freeze frames which showed different types of bullying

Year 4 loved investigating angles within shapes this morning. They looked at a range of shapes, and thought about types of interior angles. They then scanned the QR codes on their shape cards to check if they were correct.

We looked at techniques such as: brush drawing, dabbing, double loading, dry brushing and scratching.

We had fun learning about our most important muscle in the body - our heart and how to keep it healthy.

We played games to help us understand what happens if we eat too much sugar and we compared sugar content in different foods.

Wow! What a great two days we have had at Tranmere Rovers participating in Wirral Deen Centre's 'We Are One' tournaments! 

Our Year 6 girls came 2nd overall. Our Year 4/5 mixed team came 1st!!!

 

A massive well done to all children involved, it was great to see their positive attitude, teamwork and respect for others shine through!

Girls Easter Football Camp- LFC Foundation, by Miss Flynn

LFC Foundation are delighted to announce that they will be running a Girls Only Easter Football Camp at Solar Campus, the training venue of LFC Women. The camp is open to children aged 4-14 and will run on Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th April from 10am-3pm at a cost of £15 per day.
