Hey Year 4!

Hope you're all keeping well and safe! This week we'd like you to create your own art using recycled materials! Research some art by Angelika Heckhausen, she uses recycled materials to create marine pictures! Can you make something like this?

We'd also like you to research the biggest ports of the world and where they are located! Using the world map, can you label the biggest ports, what they're called and where they are?

Next task! Research John Laird! He's an important part of Wirral's history, but who is he? Why is he so important? What did he do? Research all about him and find out who he is!

Finally, read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we'll give you the whole week to do this and next week some of the tasks might be about the book! So get reading and enjoy! (I recommend the movies too!) Here's a link to an audio version of the book if you'd like to listen and read along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coGg0LMFKSE&list=PLWTjE1sfkImAjTOkVWd8H0dPtraPgC2lt

Year 4 Home Learning Week 1, by Mr Chamberlain

Date: 3rd Apr 2020 @ 2:42pm

Hey Year 4,

Hope you're all well, staying at home and keeping safe! We've got some fun weekly tasks for you to do at home. So check out the tasks and video below!

Your challenge is to carry out your very own Viking raid In Your House!

Plan which room you are going to raid and starting from your bedroom create a map of your house and write the directions for how to get from your room to the target destination i.e. the kitchen.

Make the equipment you will need to take with you: a Viking helmet, shield and axe.

Time how long it takes for you to get there and back and convert this between minutes and seconds.

Finally, write either a Newspaper report about your raid or a story in the style of a Norse Myth.

We'd love to see what you make! Please post them to our Twitter @OurLadyandStEdw and our Faceook!

Terrific Torah!, by Miss Haslett

Date: 10th Jan 2020 @ 3:49pm

Judaism , by Miss Haslett

Date: 8th Jan 2020 @ 4:36pm

Year 4 have been learning all about Judaism this week. Today they focused in the celebration of Hanukkah. The children enjoyed acting out the story of Hanukkah, doing freeze frames, writing the story, making a menorah, making Hanukkah cards, making a dreidel, playing the dreidel game, tasting food, designing their own Synogogue and signing songs! Your children also know many facts about the history of Judaism; quiz them and see!

Volcano and Earthquake Theatre Workshop, by Miss Haslett

Date: 11th Dec 2019 @ 1:01pm

Year 4 loved every second of their theatre workshop. Their knowledge proved to be up to standard to compete in quizzes and games. The most popular part of the workshop proved to be the freezeframe activity, where children were given scenarios based around myths and legends of volcanoes and earthquakes from around the world!
