Start: 18th Mar 2022 9:00am

Duration: 1 day

Re: Year 6 Trip to Chester Zoo - Friday 18th March.

As part of their Science and Geography topics, Year 6 will be visiting Chester Zoo.

The children will be able to explore the zoo in groups focusing on the endangered species of the Amazon Rainforest. Pupils will then be participating in a Rainforest workshop, they will become immersed in an adventure to the rainforest, sat around a campfire (no actual flames!) describing the weather, how they feel and what they can see and hear. Children will also discuss the threats to the rainforest and how pupils' daily actions such as recycling and buying sustainable products can help save this wonderful and important habitat!

Children will need a packed lunch for the visit to Chester Zoo (disposable cartons only, no glass bottles or sports/energy/fizzy drinks) in a plastic bag, labelled clearly with their name. Packed lunch will be provided for all children who are entitled to free school meals.

The children will be leaving school at 9.30am, travelling by coach, and will aim to return by the end of the school day.  Please ensure your child is wearing their full school uniform, a warm waterproof coat and sensible shoes.
