Tonight, in Mini Vinnies, we spoke about how God encourages us to look after our planet, his creatures and all living things. We decided to work together to clear the flower beds on our school playground. We collected some rubbish and pulled up some of the weeds to make space for more flowers to grow.

Holy Communion Meeting, by Miss Flynn

Date: 11th May 2023 @ 9:09am

Holy Communion Meeting - Tuesday 9th May

This week, Y3 and their parents gathered in the school hall for their first Holy Communion meeting.

To begin, we lit a candle and Thea (Y3) led us in prayer.

The children discussed why they wanted to make the sacrament of First Holy Communion and reflected on the words Jesus said at the Last Supper.

The children discussed what they would have if they were to plan a special meal and who they would invite to their special day.

Fr. Michael gave the final blessing.

Mini Vinnies

This week, in our Mini Vinnies club, we elected our first President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. We had a lot of children who put themselves forward- but after a very tense vote, the successful candidates were;

President: Elsie (Y6)
Vice President: Delilah (Y5)
Secretary: Martha (Y4)
Treasurer: Amelia (Y3)

Once the roles were assigned, the children got straight to work. Using our motto, 'See, Think, Do', we discussed ways that we can help people in our school and local community. Next week, we will begin to plan our first event!??

Year 5 - Croxteth Park visit

As part of Year 5's learning in Science linked to animal life cycles and processes the children visited Croxteth Country Park Farm

As part of their trip, they were able learn about how the animals were cared for and looked after throughout each stage of their life cycle and were then able to take part in some of the day to day activities involved in caring for the animals and assisting them with some of their key life processes in order that they might grow healthy and strong

Whilst also at the Country Park, the children went on a tour of the beautiful Victorian Walled Gardens attached to Croxteth Manor House and learnt about some of the flowers and plants within them. They then sketched aspects of the garden as inspiration for their descriptive writing in English

Imagine That!, by Mrs Schultz

Date: 23rd Apr 2023 @ 9:54pm

At the end of the Spring Term, Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous trip to Imagine That! Science and Discovery Centre, In Liverpool. They explored 4 different zones over the course of the day. We began the day in the Science Zone where we, amongst many other things, explored magnets, delved into a light and shadow room, made giant bubbles, played in a sand and water area and made snow!

We then moved into the Slime factory where the children were shown some exciting experiments and chemical reactions before making bath bombs and slime. They were then given the opportunity to play with the giant slime trays!

After that, we moved onto the Art Beatz room. The children delighted in making music on the music wall, painted magnets, made pictures using paint dabbers, produced 3D pin art, weaved ribbons and even painted a car!

The final zine was the Imagination Village where the children could be who we they wanted to be; vets, weather reporters, builders, fire fighters, performers, shop keepers and chefs!

We had an amazing time, and couldn't wait to write a recount of our adventures when we got back to school. Thanks to all our parent helpers, we hope you had as much fun as we did!

Date: 20th Apr 2023 @ 9:13pm

Esme and Caden have been very busy saving a bird of pray! ???

This beautiful creature was found injured after being hit by a vehicle. Due to some fast action thinking, the buzzard was quickly taken to the nearest vets to get checked out. We have had updates informing us that she had no broken bones but did have an infection in her eye. She is being transferred to Wrexham to be rehabilitated when she will then be released back into the wild to join her family ???
